Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers

Wednesday, August 4th - One show at 8:00pm
Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers Web Site

Over 50 years ago, Larry, Steve, and Rudy Gatlin started singing in their little hometown of Abilene, Texas, and from there went on to make music history.  Over the course of a four-decade career that has taken the Gatlin Brothers from dusty Texas stages to White House performances, from Broadway to Grammy Awards to the top of the country charts, there has been one unifying element, music. There's no harmony quite as pure as family harmony. "Gatlin harmonies spin with high and light precision and their music bleeds and screams of love and a lot of living." Said Country Capsule in New York.   Larry, Steve, and Rudy love to sing together. Raised on Gospel music, the brothers first began entertaining audiences in churches and then with guest appearances on the Slim Willet radio and TV shows in Abilene, Texas when they were 2, 4, and 6 years old.

Bucky Covington

Thursday, August 5th - One show at 8:00pm
Bucky Covington Web Site

Bucky Covington is that most remarkable of entertainers—a man known and loved as much for his engaging personality as for his formidable talent. The talent has shone through on three hit singles that have helped push his debut album toward gold status; his undeniable likeability and his ability to wear his stardom as comfortably as his jeans has done the rest. Both come together on stage, where the long-haired North Carolinian with the rocker's charisma and the country boy charm thrills old and new fans alike as he criss-crosses the country.

With his first album, Bucky earned a place in the forefront of a new generation of country singers. He became the best-selling debut artist of the class of 2007, with the best first-week sales and highest Top 200 debut for any male country artist in 15 years. He appeared on Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live and many others, became part of the Country Sings Disney project, and appeared in Hannah Montana: The Movie. Now, with his second, he leaves behind newcomer status and emerges as one of the true standouts in contemporary country music.

Stealing Angels

Saturday, August 7th - Two shows 4:00 and 8:00pm
Stealing Angels Web Site

There is an incredible new country music group in America. Caroline Cutbirth, Jennifer Wayne, and Tayla Lynn are STEALING ANGELS. Their legendary producer Paul Worley (Dixie Chicks, Martina, Lady A, etc.) calls them "lightning in a bottle". Each girl has an amazing story, and how they came together is even more amazing.

Caroline Cutbirth is a strikingly beautiful Waco, Texas native with an even more beautiful voice who graduated from Belmont University in Nashville with dreams of becoming a county star. "There was so much that I didn't know about the music business when I got to Nashville" she recalls. Despite her extraordinary talent, when she first arrived in Music City she was frustrated. "I thought I was just another blonde singer. I didn't know how to get into the business in a way that would make me stand out." She soon found some help, however. She met Jennifer Wayne.

Jennifer Wayne was born in and raised in the hills of Hollywood, California, but she always had her heart set on singing country music. "I knew I could sing.. Everybody said I had a great voice, but at first I didn’t think I would ever do anything with it, because tennis was my thing." Jennifer was a nationally ranked player from childhood. Her grandfather was the legendary actor John Wayne, and one of his best friends, Merv Griffin helped change her career path. Merv heard her sign and started a record label just for her. She moved to Nashville and began recording, but before things could really get going Merv passed away and the label was dissolved. But Jen had met her future: Caroline was the second person she met her future: Caroline was the second person she met in Music City and soon the two had gone from being great friends to great musical collaborators. Jennifer had an idea to do a reality show based on three aspiring female country misuce singers who are descendants of famous folks. (Daniel Boone was Caroline's long lost relative.) They needed a third peorson for the show idea, and that's when they were introduced to Tayla Lynn.

Tayla Lynn, from Franklin, Tennessee, is Loretta Lynn's granddaughter. One look at the fireworks she creates onstage and you'll know that the apple didn't fall far from the tree. She was crawling around Loretta's bus before she could walk. "I can't remeber a time that I wasn't in the wings in some town somewhere watchin' my "me-maw" and my daddy on stage". "I've never wanted anything other than to be a singer and a performer". At first Caroline, Jennifer and Tayla agreed to perform in concert together, but strictly as three solo singers. They soon began singing harmonies to one another's songs on stage, and discovered the power and natural chemistry they had together. One day after a show someone close to one of them said "honey, you've always had a guardian angel watchin' over you, but when I heard you with those other two girls; I know you must've been STEALING ANGELS!"

They are currently in the studio with Paul Worley and the Skyline team working on their first recording. Several cable networks have expressed interest in Jennifer Wayne’s TV idea, but the girls may be too busy playing in a city near you to do it right now.. When you see and hear them, you’ll understand what all the fuss is about: STEALING ANGELS will have you heading straight for country music heaven!

Jay and the Americans

Sunday, August 8th - Two shows 3:00 and 6:00pm
Jay and the Americans Web Site

“ONLY IN AMERICA” - In one of the greatest turnabouts in Rock and Roll history, the group JAY AND THE AMERICANS, started by four teenage boys in Sandy Yaguda’s Brooklyn basement 40 years ago, have bought back their rightful name in federal court, restoring the name to it’s rightful owners. Very few bands have ever reached the musical heights of JAY AND THE AMERICANS. From 1962-1971, this group charted an unprecedented “12” top 10 records. With three original band members, Sandy Yaguda (aka Deane) founding member, Howie Kirschenbaum (aka Kane) original member, and Marty Kupersmith (aka Sanders), original member, plus the addition of “Jay” Reincke, the third Jay and probably the best yet, .. they have recreated the authentic sound of all of . . their great hits that everyone remembers.

JAY AND THE AMERICANS first record was “TONIGHT” (from the Broadway Musical WEST SIDE STORY), and their breakout hit song was “SHE CRIED”.JAY AND THE AMERICANS next chart hit was “ONLY IN AMERICA”, followed by top ten hits “COME A LITTLE BIT CLOSER” and .later “THIS MAGIC MOMENT”?

Where were you when you first heard “CARA MIA”? JAY AND THE AMERICANS pay tribute to the late ROY ORBISON with “CRYING”, and no other band in history has sold more copies of the song “SOME ENCHANTED VENING” than JAY AND THE AMERICANS!!!

NEIL DIAMOND ‘s first hit song released, “SUNDAY AND ME”, was recorded by none other than JAY AND THE AMERICANS, who have toured with such legendary artists as ROY ORBISON, THE BEATLES, and THE ROLLING STONES.

JAY AND THE AMERICANS were a major force in starting the Rock and Roll revival with their album “WAX MUSEUM”, where they paid tribute to many great Rock and Roll artists with their versions of such great songs as “HUSHABYE”, “WALKIN’ IN THE RAIN”, and a song that reached the top ten “THIS MAGIC MOMENT”. You will hear all of these songs, which are featured in the new JAY AND THE AMERICANS’ show.

In 2002, JAY AND THE AMERICANS were inducted into the VOCAL GROUP HALL OF FAME, placing them among the greatest vocal groups in Rock and Roll history
